Welcome to the Hickman Creek Conservancy!

We are glad you stopped by.  Here you will find tools for learning how you can protect our streams.  We are a willing partner for cleanups, planting efforts, and working toward stabilization and restoration efforts.

ANNOUNCEMENT:

Come join us for the Hickman Creek Fall Clean-up, hosted by Bluegrass Trout Unlimited. The event will be from 10-2 on Saturday, September 17, 2022. We can't wait to see you there!

Water Week Activities!

  • Join in on the creek sweep at Veterans Park with Bluegrass Trout Unlimited. We'll meet at the playground located at the end of Rockbridge Rd. on March 18th from 9 to Noon. HCC will have some trash pickup equipment and gloves. Just come have a good time and meet some folks who share a love for the outdoors and our urban stream environments.
  • NOTE! Brian will be leading a stream ecosystem exploration at Belleau Woods Park on March 25th. This has been changed from the 18th due to cold weather. We'll be looking for "Creek Critters" in the stream bed so have on footwear that is suitable for wading. Meet Brian at 10:00 am near the playground in BW Park on Forest Green Dr. This is a great activity for kids, especially those who have an interest in bugs and crawdads.
  • There's another creek sweep at Centenary Methodist Church on March 25th from 10:00 to 12:00. Volunteers will be collecting trash and litter from the stream bed and surroundings. Hickman Creek Conservancy will provide equipment such as "pickers," bags, gloves, etc. Participants should wear appropriate footwear for wet conditions.
